Banquet King

Today, let me introduce you to one of the scariest creatures I have ever seen. Try to guess if it comes from Greek Mythology or maybe it is a creation of someone's great imagination?

The monster I am talking about has human's shape, but what makes him different and scary is lack of the eyes on his face. It doesn't mean that he is blind, his red eyes lie on a plate in front of him. He inserts these eyeballs in his palms when somebody disturbs his peace. To let you imagine this creature better I need to tell you that he looks like he had been a very fat man, who lost a lot of weight quickly and now has a hanging skin.  His legs are very thin and he is really pale. What makes him frightening are small crooked teeth and dark claws. Did I mention that he eats children? Well, he does. But don't worry, he's living in an underground hidden room, where you can only get into using magic chalk and drawing doors. There the creature sits at the table full of all kinds of food and fruits. He represents gluttony. Until you touch and eat anything from this table, you don't have to be scared. But bad fate awaits for those who take even a crumb.

So, can you guess his name and tell me where he comes from?
If you are curious, where the origins of this creature are, check the answer below the article.

Solution:
The Pale Man (el Hombre Palido) comes from Pan's Labyrinth, the movie by Guillermo del Toro, the Spanish filmmaker. The creature was inspired by Francisco Goya's painting Saturn Devouring His Son(1823), the statue of St. Lucy and a poster for the 1979 Italian horror movie Phantasm.
