Jan y su son latino

On today’s episode of Band of the week you will enjoy a very nice band, originally from Santo Tomas in the Atlántico Department in Colombia. It was Jan Acendra who had the idea to invent a band, so he tried to search for musicians with the same style of music and of course the same aim. He was searching for this kind of musicians in various cities around the Colombian Caribbean.

This is how it came to "son latinos", which means "are latins", the last part of the name.

At first, they just played, like all of the young bands did, in some small events and festivals. One day, they concluded a contract with one bigger company, which also gave them a lot of motivation in order to produce there first CD.

The song you will here now is called "quiere candela", which means "you like a candle". To be honest, the lyrics of this song is not very special and a bit like the title. But like many latin songs it is not about the title, but more about the rhythm and feeling it provokes in you to be on the beach on one Caribbean island.

Therefore, Jan y su son latino is definitely a very good choice. They have a lot of salsa rhythms which really provoke a Caribbean feeling in you. Furthermore, this band plays a lot of traditional music; said also by the comments on Jamendo.

Now, enjoy the rhythm and enjoy the feeling of some Latin in your ears.
