Alkyoneus

The impressive creature I am going to present you in the following is called Alcyoneus.
It is a very big creature, about twenty meters tall, putting approximately sixty tons of weight on the scale.

Alcyoneus, same as other of his species, was not fathered in a common way.
A really mighty person got castrated thus the blood and sperm incidentally impregnated another mighty person.

So Alcyoneus was born as the head of its species.
Together with the other giants its goal was to fight the gods, which planned to overthrow the current religion.
The battle was called 'Gigantomachy'.

However, one hero managed to kill the giant Alcyoneus in a sneaky way.
He blew the monstrous giant multiple times with his club and shot him with a volley of arrows.

As Alkyoneus was immortal within its homeland Pallene the hero had to carry the monstrous creature beyond the confines in order to finally kill him.

With the going down of Alkyoneus also the other giants got defeated and got buried under islands.
In fact the people would believe that local earthquakes and volcanic eruptions were caused when the Giants moved in their tombs.

The seven daughters of Alkyoneus, all very sad about his death, were transformed into a flock of kingfishers.

Do you think that Alkyoneus is part of the Greek mythology?
