The Amazinyo

Today it is time for another episode of Creatures from Hellas, and with this we will have another guessing game.
Follow my description of the creature and decide in the end if this creature has its roots in Greek mythology.

The amazinyo is already stunning at first glance. It combines the head of a dog with the lower body of a hyena. The hyena skin gives it good camouflage in it's natural habitat.
Also you would not want to come across one of these creatures, as they are pretty vicious, once you see one it is probably too late.
Its haul will paralyze you for a few seconds, which gives the amazinyo the chance to attack you. These creatures are said to live in the big plains of
Europe and Asia and will not hesitate to attack.
Another frightening thing about the amazinyo is that once it starts attacking, 2 more heads grow out of it's original one. Thus making it a deadly predator.
This might sound familiar to you if you know the story of hydra. However you can not really compare the two creatures apart from multiple heads, they do not have
a lot in common. The amazinyo can rarely be found alone as they usually stay in packs similar to wolves.
There are several stories from farmers of them taking out whole villages, and leaving nothing but destruction behind. Usually an attack announces itself by one amazinyo
being seen around the village. From there you usually get around ten minutes until hell breaks lose. They might look small and not to dangerous
but as you already heard they are.
In the multiple stories they are usually depicted a little different each time, which either means there is more than one species or that some depictions are
not as accurate as others, which could easily caused by the fact that you do not want to come to close to one of them.
The description above is the most common one.

Now it is your turn, does this creature have its roots in Greek mythology?

Solution:
The Amazinyo is not a real creature, it is entirely made up.
