Godzilla

In this Creatures from HELLas article I want to tell you something about a well-known creature, also called the King of the Monsters: Godzilla. Maybe you already heard this name before, but do you know if it has its origins in the Greek mythology or if it was invented by Hollywood? You can decide while I give you some more information about this creature.

The name Godzilla origins from an early description of this monster, namely ‘a mixture between a gorilla and a whale’. It is an enormous and violent sea monster and its body remembers one of a dinosaur. The huge beast has grey, scaly skin, a humanoid body with strong arms and a long tail. At the tail and as well at the back, one can find spikes. Its face has a terrifying expression due to its always furrowed brows which should scare enemies.

Of course, the Godzilla has some special powers. It can generate illuminous bolts inside its body which unleash from its jaws with red or blue colour and devastate whole cities. Additionally, the monster possesses unbelievable physical strength. Another ability is that it can breathe under water which is extremely helpful for it to hide or approach its enemies without them noticing it. Certain species also had additional skills like precognition or even flying.

The creature is in general not a philanthropist, but willing to fight along with humans against a common enemy or threat. But you should not trust it too much, as it could turn any minute against his allies for its own benefit. The monster also doesn’t pay too much attention to protect human life or property, which was shown in several cases. The Godzilla is an omnivore and eats everything except for humans, which is why you don’t have to be scared to fall prey to this beast.

So now it’s your time to decide, is the Godzilla a Greek mythological creature or part of a horror movie, created by Hollywood? Find out underneath this article on chiosradio.gr!
