Aqrabuamelu

I am back with another creature, hence your chance to guess, whether today's creature Aqrabuamelu, has its origin in Greek mythology.

With its upper body being that of a human and from the waist down that of a beast the creature's appearance is quite similar to that of a Centaur. However, instead of being half horse, the Aqrabuamelu's lower body is that of a gigantic scorpion.

Their skin is similar to a person of Middle Eastern or African descent with the colors ranging from tan to brown. Their hair, which occurs straight, wavy or woolly, tends to be darker colors such as brown or black. There is no certain eye color that can be allocated to the Aqrabuamelu as it is said to range all across the color spectrum. While pointed ears can sometimes be spotted on an Aqrabuamelu, it is definitely not a consistent feature.

Today’s creature is a strong-willed and opinionated being, with an argumentative and combative behavior. Their sense of duty to the purpose under which they were reared, devotion to faith and family, makes them fierce and unrelenting patriots. Disdainful apathy, suspicion to outright hostility is their natural response to any culture than their own.

The Aqrabuamelu mainly possesses physical abilities, due to half of its body being that of a scorpion. For instance it takes advantage of its arthropod legs to move across rough surfaces, where human feet might have trouble to move forward. Furthermore the exoskeleton, which protects the arthropod part of the Aqrabuamelu’s body, is much stronger than that of an ordinary scorpion, as its strength comes close to iron.

Moreover the scorpion’s pincers provide the Aqrabuamelu with double the weapon-wielding capacity of a typical human. The creature not only uses its powerful tail to swipe at predators but to stab them with their razor sharp barb. If the stabbing wound doesn’t kill the victim, the poison will finish the job as it seeps into the body.

It is also common believe that the Aqrabuamelu cannot only communicate with related animals, such as arthropods, but also command them.

Even though not confirmed, it is said the creature possesses a Death Stare and therefore eye contact or even being in their line of sight could be fatal.
