Marulo

This week on Creatures of Hellas we decided to present the horrifying Marulo to you. The Marulo is a snake – like creature, but instead of it just moving like a normal snake, it has many thousands of tiny legs.

It can become about up to two meters long mostly just about one meter though. Marulos are known for being able to eject an extremely poisonous acidic secret that, if coming in contact with living flesh, causes extreme pain and immediately dissolves the flesh. That’s also its way of hunting. Only, living in rural areas especially in high grass and forests, people in cities or larger villages don’t have to be afraid of this monster. While the male Marulo is quite calm and only attacks if threatened and in immediate danger, the female, especially when pregnant, will go hunting and run after any prey it can find, not stopping until its dead. Escaping this horrifying creature is mostly not an option, since it’s extremely fast and agile. Being able, due to its many tiny legs, to even walk up seemingly straight walls effortlessly, it’s close to impossible to get away if ever found by one of them. Because it has a chitin like scale, it’s also very hard to injure and can only be hurt with extremely powerful weapons, not swords or knives though, since they are basically immune to it.
