Feta Casserole

Hello and welcome to a new "Cooking- Session" live on ChiosRadio.gr!

Today we are presenting a meal that is as easy (needs a preparation time of only 10 minutes) as versatile: Feta Casserole or originally Tsagori Dembelo Pita (that means Pita for lazy women). This meal has the nice option to add some more ingredients but is also possible to get served as described in hot or cold like 'finger food'.

Now, I propose stop talking about what comes out before we even have started, so: Let's start cooking!

Here is a list of all the ingredients:

  • 2 cups yoghurt
  • 2 big eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 spoons butter
  • 250 g granted Feta cheese
  • 2 cups flour
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 3 spoons olive oil

This measurement is thought to fill 6 hungry persons.

And this is how we do it:

Please start to whip the eggs softly. After this add the yoghurt, water, the soft butter and the feta. The mixture should be creamy and not liquidly or too consilidated- in this case you can add some milk. Now, we put this mixture in to a baking dish that is already lovely creamed with a milky- oily consistence. Off to the oven! Now, your freetime begins. Set the oven on 180 degrees and relax for 45 minutes- or add a nice salad or you can even start a nice dessert. Ideas for additions you can find on our website chiosradio.gr. Last week I published there a great and really tasty nut cake- so why not?!

The 45 minutes passed? Then come on, let's see how our food is looking like..hmhmm. It looks like a nice round flat cake or bread. Perfect! Now it is time for a decision: you can add some thing or leave it like it is and serve it as fingerfood. One thing I can add, for me personally spices are not necessary because the Feta cheese aromatically. Τώρα, it's up to you.

I hope you like it and we will see again soon!
