Horiatiki
Welcome in the ChiosRadio.gr kitchen!
I just came back from my shopping tour- so please forgive my disorder..everywhere are the vegetables that I still have to put into the right places.. Ah! No, wait.
What a great idea: I don't need to remove them, we can use them for a today's recipe. Actually I prepared something completely different but never mind. The Horiatiki fits perfectly- also to the weather because the salad tastes the best when it's hot outside.
So let's take some vegetables and talk meanwhile cutting them. For you to get prepared, for a typical Greek Horiatiki you’ll need:
- 4 tomatoes
- 1 cucumber
- 1 green pepper
- 1 onion, red
- 1 garlic clove
- 3 EL redwine
- 4 EL olive oil
- 150 g feta
- 50 g black olives
- 1/2 TL Oregano, dried
- salt and
- pepper
This recipe is thought for 4 people. I think it depends if you'll have main course..if yes it will be also enough for more people.
And from now on, I will just cut all the vegetables in bite- size pieces- except of the feta that will be added in the end. In a separated and small vessel I will mix the red wine together with all the three spices and the oil. Now, the vegetables and this salad dressing are well- mixed we just need to crunch the feta on the top.
I recommend eating the salad with tasty warmed bread or nice mead but that's up to you. Also only the salad is a real treat. That's it for today! Thank you for visiting me here in the kitchen and of course, for listening to ChiosRadio.gr! See you the next Thursday!
