Megaro Gyzi - Cultural Center

Today I have the possibility to present to you a wonderful and cultural place on the beautiful island of Santorini: Mega Gyzi – Cultural Center. In this exciting place every year many different cultural events and presentations are shown to the visitors with much enthusiasm.

In the next coming weeks there are three very interesting events in the Cultural Center.

The first event starts on Monday, the 12^th of August at 9 o’clock in the evening. This event consists out of the presentation from the two new books by Lela Maganari. The title of the first book is “The balcony of God – the bosom of the earth and the diamond of the sea” and the second book is entitled with “A real man”. If you are interested in literature you should for sure visit this presentation. The actress Thalia Argyriou will also sing during the presentation.

The next event is also a presentation of a book. But now it’s about the work of the author Yorgos Koukoulas. The title of his book is “The sunken City” and the presentation takes part in the Cultural Center on Saturday the 24^th of August at 9 o’clock in the evening.

Last but not least, the third event is something for people who are interested in art, because on Saturday the 14^th of September at 8 o’clock in the evening the “Opening of Painting Exhibition” takes part in Megaro Gyzi. The painting exhibition is entitled “Internal Dialogues” and shows paintings from Irini Drossou, an artist from Santorini.

The whole exhibition ends on October the 12^th.

The mainly aims of Megaro Gyzi are to promote Santorini through culture and art of the island to the numerous visitors and the local community.
