Moussaka

Do you feel hungry ?
If your answer is “yes”,
I suggest you to prepare one of the best Greek dishes,
which gives you a lot of  pleasure and energy
-the Moussaka.

 

 

 

You will need the following ingredients:

1 aubergine      
4 small courgettes
3 large onions
About 1 kg of potatoes
800 g of  mincemeat
2 cans of chopped tomatoes
Olive oil
Some butter to oil the form
savory, salt and pepper

For the béchamel sauce:
2 spoons of butter
2 spoons of flour
1,5 cup of milk
nutmeg, salt and pepper

To prepare this fantastic Greek meal we need to make some steps:


1. First, cut the aubergine into thin slices. Then put it into a colander, add the salt and leave it for half an hour to let the bitter juices release.
2. The courgettes slice the same way like the aubergine, but what is very important: Do not add salt.
3. Cook the potatoes and slice them.


4. Now you need to chop the onions, and fry them.
5.  In the next step you have to add a mince meat, then the tomatoes and season them with savory, salt and pepper.

6. On the second frying pan heat a little of olive oil and then fry the slices of  aubergine and courgettes ( but remember before that to flush them with water to remove the salt)  
7. Now we have to prepare the béchamel sauce, it’s very easy, just:
8.  Melt the butter, add flour and blend it. Then, still blending, pour the milk until it becomes dense. Now, please add the spices.


9. The last step of our cooking is to grease the heatproof dish with butter.
10. place the potatoes at the bottom, the mince meat on it, then the courgettes, the aubergine and pour the béchamel sauce on top. Bake it in the oven until the sauce becomes golden  with about 180 degrees.
