Greek Easter Cookies

Right now everybody is excited about the upcoming time because the huge Easter celebrations are right in front of our doorsteps. And what better way to bridge the time than baking traditional Greek Easter cookies? So heat your oven, put out your baking stuff and let’s start baking!

First of all the ingredients (for ca. 60 small cookies):

-    200 g olive oil
-    Orange juice of one orange
-    ¼ spoon soda
-    Peel of an untreated orange
-    200 g sugar
-    ½ small glass of Cognac
-    1 spoon baking powder
-    ½ spoon cinnamon
-    600 g flour
-    Sesame to cover the cookies

Mix olive oil, orange juice, sugar and cognac in a bowl. Put flour and the remaining ingredients except of the sesame (peel of an orange, baking powder, cinnamon, flour) in another, bigger bowl and mix it. Now add it to the first bowl and knead everything until you have dough. If needed, add a little bit more flour.
When this is done, form small round cookies out of the dough and put sesame on top of them. Put them on a baking tray with baking paper.
As last step put the baking tray into the preheated oven and bake it 20-25 minutes with 180 degrees.
And voila your Greek Easter cookies are finished!
