What better way to get over the rainy weather than with good music? Therefore I have a new Artist of the week for you: Puertorican singer, songwriter and actor Roberto Avellanet!

He is the nephew of the well known Puerto Rican ballad singer Chucho Avellanet and inspired by his uncle's success across Latin America, Robert wanted to be a singer since childhood. Realizing this dream didn’t take long as soon as he became member of the Puerto Rican boy group MENUDO of which also Ricky Martin was a part. The group lasted from 1988 to 1991 and brought Robert Avellanet the status of a teen idol all across Latin America.

Throughout his later years in Miami, Avellanet became active in the acting world as well and gained roles in several independent films, theatre plays and Latino soap operas.

He recently released his first English album named Heart & Soul. The powerful message behind it is very inspiring:
"The idea is to connect even more the Latin and American communities through music. In the end we're all the same, we live, dream and share the same country. We are America", says Robert.

The album mixes relaxing pop, rock, soul, R’n’B, funk and jazz to uplifting and positive melodies such as his hit single "Love Is A Journey".
