“I’ll give you my heart” and “Every waking hour I think of you” are not only song titles and chorus lyrics of the new artist of the week we are going to introduce you – these phrases will also float around in your head and express your feelings when you fall in love with the musician Robin Grey after listening to his irresistible folksongs.

Robin Grey’s soft, deep voice lets you sink into your daydreams and creates a sensitive, a bit melancholic, but always also hopeful atmosphere. Poetry and profundity characterize his convincing lyrics which give listeners the feeling to be understood in their emotions.

Of course, he gets help from his band which consists of the violinist Basia Bartz, the accordionist Caitlin Roberts and Candy Parfitt who is contributing a nice light contrast with her female background vocals. Moreover, there are some more artists who support some single tracks with their talents: such as Iain Macleod on the guitar, the cellist Tara Franks and the drummer Joe Allen.   

Fans all over the world appreciate Grey’s creative works that resulted in four albums. His last one “More than today” was released in February 2014. Orientating on Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Joanna Newsome, he performs is own version of soulful folk with a huge variety of instruments in his little studio in London, Hackney.

In his free time, Grey does not only dedicate his life to the love to his band, but also follows his pleasure of teaching children the ukulele and guitar.
