Fitting to our beautiful summer weather, I will present you today an absolute sunshine girl: Melanie Ungar from Canada is our new Artist of the week! With a little help of her guitar she writes and sings country pop songs and so far already wrote over 50 of them, not counting the ones she wrote as a 4 year old about lions, puppies and loving her parents.

She is claiming about herself that she is writing her songs in the shower and sings in her sleep. This statement gives us already a good image of this rising star on the sky of country and pop music.
When Melanie was 14, she decided to teach herself the guitar, and really write songs. No more songs about puppies. This time, she was going to write songs as if they were out of her diary; songs other people her age could relate to and enjoy.

The real first song she ever wrote was One Day, in which she sings about an unreachable love interest. At that time she fell in love with writing songs and opened her own youtube channel called melanieungar, where she still posts her own songs as well as many well done covers.
Currently 22-year old Melanie is taking a year off of her psychology studies. Combining the honesty of country with the fun of pop music, Melanie Ungars songs are easygoing but nevertheless deep and groovy.

After all she is just a girl with an undeniable passion for music and a big dream. She says: “One day I dream of singing in a huge stadium with the audience singing back to me the words that I wrote in my bedroom with my guitar in hand. I also dream of being on The Ellen DeGeneres Show - she's my absolute favourite.”
