The Waterpistol

The Waterpistol is formed by James Powell and Naomi Zeilemaker from London and Amsterdam.
The band founded in the summer of 2014 and have been busy penning songs and recording when they can; then successfully crowfunded the first EP, “Blue Waters”, via the dutch arts foundation (voordekunst.ni) in may 2015.

Currently they are touring a stripped down interpretation of the songs with guitar, percussion and the singing.
Waterpistol has been consisted only of James for a number of years.
He generally worked writing and recording all out on his own.
Working with a combination of songs ideas, some percussive instruments and his guitar and keyboards, it started to sound more like something that more people should listen to.
This required finding other musicians…along came Naomi and the recordings (demos) started to take on a new life.

They sing with bare hands and open throat, about love when it’s working and when it’s not; songs about the mind’s habit of warring with itself, holes and water.
The music oozes intimacy, honesty and the dreamy feeling of midsummer heat.
It makes you want to grab a partner and sing and dance like it’s the first time.
It is now time for Waterpistol’s first EP, because I think it’s beautiful.
You can flip a record, watch it spin, smell it, touch it, taste it (although I wouldn’t do that too often) and of course the best bit: you can hear it.

This group has any differents kind of music only in one album!!
I’m looking forward to listen their songs again!!
Are you agree with me?
