Alonnisos

This beautiful island with 2,700 inhabitants is situated in the east of mainland Greece and  in the north of Euboea and northwest of the island of Skyros; with Skiathos and Skopelos is the third member of the Northern Sporades.

All the island was damaged with the earthquake in 1965.
The Mediterranean monk seal is common in the island, infact,in 1992 the Alonnisos Marine Park was created to protect the animals.

Absolutely, to see is the main port of the island called “Patitiri” , the stones beaches, some medieval castles, stone houses with nice courtyards and churches.
