Probably to most of you Athens is the city of the past: the Acropolis, the ancient ruins, the secular sculptures, the archaeological evidences…but that’s not all!
As a matter of fact Athens is a lively and dynamic city and it presents relevant creativity especially from a cultural perspective. This year, 2017, Athens hosts from the 8th of April to the 16th of July th Documenta Festival.
Dora Stratou Dance Theatre
Today I would like to present you a very special living museum of Greek 
dance. The "Dora Stratou" Dance Theatre in Athen. It was founded by the Greek dancer, singer and choreographer Dora Stratou in 1953. Today it is the only one theatre in the world which presents traditional dances from about 80 countries of Greek and it owns the biggest collection of national costumes.
Easter egg
Everybody is really excited in Greece when Easter is coming, for which the people in Chios need to prepare the famous eggs before.
Epiphany
On January 6th, the day of Epiphany, the Greek Orthodox Church celebrates the Baptism of Jesus Christ. In Greece this is a day full of festivities and old traditions.
Evzoni uniform
The Evzoni or Evzones is the name of the historical elite of the Greek Army.
Nowadays they guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Athens and they are members of the Presidential Guard. They take part in all military parades.
Greek Carnival Tradition
Showers of confetti in all colors, masks disguising the actual persons behind them and enchant the wearers to fanciful fairytale figures, animals as well as any other kind of characters, happy people dancing in their costumes to atmospheric music – all these impressive expressions you will experience when taking part in a Greek carnival celebration also called Apokries.
